Think.Check.Submit (TCS) turned ten years old in 2025! After expanding its operations in 2024, the Committee was able to take a more focused approach in 2025, focusing on raising awareness and attracting a more global audience. We wanted to expand our reach to international audiences and create more opportunities for engagement with TCS, with a special focus on universities and librarians. Business-as-usual activities, such as translating our resources or providing new versions of our video, continued throughout the year. We focused on increasing our presence in Spanish-speaking Latin America and continued to participate in global events.

In times of uncertainty, it is human nature to turn to reliable, trusted sources. TCS turned 10 years old in 2025 and has now become well-embedded in many minds as a reliable cross-industry initiative tackling predatory publishing. A library product review in Katina magazine highlights TCS as an essential tool for evaluating journals and publishers. We continue to grow and expand: a new organisation joined the Committee, new resources were published, and we gained new followers in countries where traditionally engagement had been low.
All of this is due to the tireless efforts of the TCS Committee, our Communications Administrator, Lorraine Estelle, and the wonderful community members who volunteer to translate our checklists. Without this incredible effort, TCS wouldn’t be what it is today. I’d like to thank everyone for their commitment, and, by extension, you, the contributing organisations, for allowing us access to these talented individuals.
If you are reading this and are trying to decide whether or not TCS is an initiative that’s worth supporting, I would ask you to consider this: in a world where trust is undermined by the selectiveness of social media’s algorithms and the distorting of truth in an AI-influenced world, initiatives like TCS, that are based on years of experience and evidence-based resources and tools, are invaluable to preserving the integrity of scholarly publishing.
