Language plays a crucial role in ensuring equity in scholarly publishing, which is why we work to make Think. Check. Submit. resources available in as many languages as possible. We rely on the generosity of volunteers around the world to help with these translations.
Over the past few months, we’ve expanded our multilingual offerings even further. Our Think. Check. Submit. explainer video is now available in Spanish and Portuguese. It is a short, accessible introduction to the issue of predatory publishing and the warning signs researchers should watch for.
We understand how valuable checklists can be for researchers, and we’re truly grateful for the effort of a kind volunteer who recently translated our journal checklist into Latvian.
Resources that support researchers in using our well-known checklists are also essential. These resources break down the scholarly publishing process in a clear, easy-to-read way. This month, we published an Arabic translation of our resource on predatory publishing, along with our downloadable slide deck, which is freely available for anyone delivering training in scholarly communication.
We make all of our resources completely free to use, publishing them under a CC licence, and you can adapt them for local training needs.
A huge thank you to all our volunteer translators for making this work possible.
You too can help by visiting our website and letting us know if you find a resource that isn’t available in your first language and you would like to translate it.
