Think. Check. Submit. is delighted to receive the support of the project on Predatory Publishing, a library-led sub-project that is part of Austrian Transition to Open Access 2 Project (AT2OA2). The focus of this project lies both on predatory publishing and quality in scholarly communication. It is crucial in establishing a community of practice, raising awareness in German-speaking countries, and building a network through a blog, mailing list, and various presentations and workshops as well as collaborations with a variety of stakeholders.
Clara Ginther and Susanne Luger, the project leads, said “Think. Check. Submit is a cornerstone in raising awareness about predatory publishing and supporting the scholarly community in assessing journals and conferences. We recommend Think. Check. Submit in our workshops and presentations. As such it is vital to us to not only make use of this freely accessible resource, but also to support it.”
Dominic Mitchell, Chair of the Think. Check. Submit. committee, commented, “Think. Check. Submit. is an international initiative, and we welcome the support of this library-led project in Austria. Librarians play a vital role in our mission to ensure all researchers are aware of how to avoid predatory publishing and help them find trusted publishers for their research.”
